A chance encounter with a quilt designer many years ago introduced me to the art of stained glass making. This evolved into fused glass and discovering the fun of opening the kiln lid after a night’s fusing and seeing the alchemical transformation within. I work with Bullseye glass and accessories and am constantly amazed by this adaptable material. I am self-taught, and love experimenting with texture, detail and colour.
After having my children, I craved a different scene to the world of toddler groups, and, having discovered a new interest in the plants in my garden, volunteered at nearby Anglesey Abbey for several years, working in the beautiful gardens. I also worked for years as a freelance gardener, always drawn to the outside. It’s probably why I particularly enjoy making things from the natural world, such as whimsical birds and insects made with metallic elements, and quirky transparent flowers, creating unique items to bring a bit of colour and individuality.
